Reference media
Adding images or video as references, within what each model accepts.
References are images or videos you add next to the prompt. Which kinds you can add depends on the model and mode you choose in Studio; each model page lists them under “Supported references”.
Start with a clear subject. Add setting, light, and action. Use references when you need to preserve a person or object.
Kinds of references
- Image referencesPerson, object, style or composition · Optional
- Character imagesSame person and appearance · Optional
- Start / end framesSet how the video starts and, on models that allow it, how it ends.

Uploading and checks
Upload or choose one of your creations
PNG, JPEG or WebP images, at least 300 px per side and up to 20 MB; MP4 videos up to 30 seconds and 100 MB.
After upload, the video must pass visual and audio safety checks before it can be used as a reference.
The selected capability does not accept this reference. It remains preserved until you remove it or return to the original model.
Before you generate
- Review rendered wording, faces, hands, product marks and geometry before using an image.
- Only use references you have permission to process. Describe the preservation boundary clearly.
- Available settings and quotes are shown for the exact connected version. A prompt cannot enable an unsupported input or output.
