About this tool: Convert image format
Convert a static image to JPEG, PNG or WebP while keeping its pixel dimensions.
PNG is useful when transparent pixels must survive, JPEG is suited to a photographic image on an opaque background, and WebP can suit web delivery. The converter decodes and re-encodes a static image while retaining its pixel dimensions; renaming a file extension alone would not perform this conversion.
Preview the change before downloading. Keep the original dimensions when detail matters, and reduce dimensions only when your destination requires it.
What you can do
Use an image or video you own or have permission to modify. Keep the original; a crop, format conversion or quality setting may remove pixels, transparency or fine detail.
Choose PNG for transparency, JPEG for a photo on white, or WebP for a compact web image. Pixel dimensions stay the same; changing an extension alone is not conversion.
Transparent pixels become white in JPEG.
JPEG and WebP are re-encoded with the selected quality. Some image detail may be lost.
JPEG fills transparent areas with white, so inspect cutouts and logos before exporting that format. JPEG and WebP quality controls can change detail; PNG does not use the same lossy quality setting. Animated inputs are not supported by this static-image workflow.
